Movie replica swords have been popular with sword collectors and movie aficionados for many years. From Conan, Highlander and Kill Bill to the Lord of the Rings, people devour these swords because they loved the movies so much and want to have a part of that cinematic experience hanging on the walls of their house. Movie replica swords even have ways of showing up in the homes of people who aren’t fierce collectors such as I am. Not all movies that feature swords have replicas for collectors to buy, but most of the films coming out today see this as another means of marketing and the companies producing them have dived in headfirst into the sword-making arena. It makes good financial sense for them – to license the rights to make the swords like the ones in the film – and it is also good fun for the sword collectors. Everybody wins.
